This series of performances, one of the most popular of the center’s opening festival, gave the Korean public its first opportunity to discover Yoann Bourgeois, French artistic director, choreographer and artist of the internationally renowned. This series of performances is a testament to LG’s long-standing commitment to arts culture since the opening of the LG Arts Center SEOUL.
After 22 years of operation, the LG Arts Center SEOUL reopened to the public in October in a building designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando. As a testament to LG’s commitment to art in all its forms, the relocated center features a spacious new performance hall, the LG SIGNATURE Hall, capable of seating 1,335 people.
Presented for the first time in South Korea, Yoann Bourgeois, whose diverse background includes circus training, is a major figure in the global contemporary performing arts scene. His compelling performances celebrate the beauty of physical movement, blurring the line between acrobatics and dance and revealing a truly unique creative vision. Bourgeois’ artistic talent and innovative approach to his craft echo the philosophy of LG SIGNATURE, a brand whose appliances seamlessly bring together the best of art and technology.
LG sponsor of The one who falls
Sponsored by LG on behalf of the LG SIGNATURE brand, the inspiring The one who falls was performed by the Centre Chorégraphique National de Grenoble under the direction of Bourgeois, with Frank Sinatra’s song My Way accompanying the performers’ dynamic movements. Opening 2, a short but equally mesmerizing work, allowed the audience to experience the grace, power and presence that choreographer and acrobat Yoann Bourgeois brings to the stage with such ease. As part of LG SIGNATURE’s customer experiences, selected customers were invited to attend both performances.
During the Yoann Bourgeois series, visitors to the LG Arts Center SEOUL had the opportunity to enjoy LG SIGNATURE’s exclusive pop-up exhibition and photo zone located in the LG SIGNATURE lobby. Echoing Tadao Ando’s unique architectural design philosophy, the exhibition area offered a glimpse of LG SIGNATURE’s best innovations, such as the wine cellar, InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerator, and OLED TV R. Meanwhile, the ultra-interactive photo zone featured memorable moments from the Yoann Bourgeois series for a truly immersive experience.
« It was a great honor to introduce the Korean audience to the artistic innovation of the inimitable Yoann Bourgeois, » said Lee Jeong-seok, head of LG Electronics’ global marketing center. « Staying true to our philosophy, we will continue to partner with artists and institutions that share our vision of a better world through the power of art. »
